APEC Secretariat publicly thanks Taiwan for continued contributions

Taiwan is donating US$1 million this year to assist with capacity building for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) members and to bolster APEC research capabilities. The contribution will be allocated to the Human Security Sub Fund, the Digital Innovation Sub Fund, the Women and the Economy Sub Fund, and the Policy Support Unit.

First Ever Fun Learning in Huayu Camp in Sarawak Promote Further Study and Learning Mandarin in Taiwan

The 2024 Fun Learning in Huayu Camp organized by the Education Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Malaysia and supported by the Sarawak Taiwan Graduates’ Association Miri Branch was held on October 21, 2024, first at Merbau National Secondary School, and then at Pujut National Secondary School. More than 120 non-Chinese students participated in the camp activities at these schools and received a Huayu Program Completion Certificate.

Updated anti-fraud strategy introduces stronger protections

At the Cabinet’s weekly meeting Thursday, Premier Cho Jung-tai received briefings from several ministries and agencies regarding version 2.0 of the government’s next-generation anti-fraud strategy guidelines. The premier pointed out that the Fraud Crime Hazard Prevention Act, along with three complementary laws and legal amendments, were enacted in 2024 to comprehensively address the existing problem of fraudulent crime and respond to emerging forms of online and telecom fraud.
