From October 23 to 25, 2024, the Taiwan Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, together with the Taipei City Government Department of Information and Tourism and six domestic MICE industry partners, participated in ITB Asia in Singapore to actively promote Taiwan’s business and MICE tourism. The Taiwan Pavilion, designed around the new tourism brand “Waves of Wonder,” took inspiration from Taiwan’s diverse natural landscapes.
Since the establishment, Taipei City Department for Youth has actively promoted youth participation in international affairs, encouraging young people to embrace their responsibilities as global citizens. As part of this effort, the department is launching the Youth Overseas Volunteer Program and will hold information sessions on Saturday, October 26 and Saturday, November 9.
The Bangkok Art Biennale 2024 opened on Oct. 24, with support from the Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Thailand and the Thai art gallery Nova Contemporary. Taiwanese artist Cole Lu’s (呂咅彧) work, “The Engineers,” is featured at this year’s biennale.
Whether it be “Black Diamond” peanuts, which have purple or black skins and are known as a Taiwanese specialty, or Taiwanese truffles, whose commercialization is still in its infancy and awaits the commitment of more resources, both are examples of dark “buried treasure” nurtured by the soil of Taiwan.
