A large solo exhibition that explores the themes of family, belongings, and home, by award-winning Philippine artist Marina Cruz, was launched in Taipei on Tuesday, when the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts reopened after 10 weeks.

Returning Animals to the Wilderness: The WildOne Wildlife Hospital

In 2017, a group of wildlife workers frustrated by the lack of resources to treat injured wildlife in the eastern part of Taiwan founded their own group, the WildOne Wildlife Conservation Association. They then traveled Taiwan promoting their cause, and in 2020 established Eastern Taiwan’s first non-profit wildlife rescue and recovery center in Chishang Township, Taitung County, to rehabilitate injured animals and return them to the wild.

In response to global resurgence of COVID-19 infections and continued spread of Delta variant, strict border control measures continue to be implemented

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) remains vigilant amid the lowering of the national epidemic alert level. On July 26, CECC announced that it will lower the epidemic alert to Level 2, effective from July 27, but it will continue to implement tight border control measures given the global resurgence of COVID-19 infections and the continued spread of the Delta variant.

Regarding the new imported cases, Case #15688 is a Taiwanese male in his 50s. He boarded a vessel and headed out to sea on June 22. The ship arrived in Taiwan on July 20. The Taiwanese man tested negative for COVID-19. He was quarantined at a group quarantine facility arranged by the health authority because two persons (Case #15576 and Case #15581) aboard the vessel were diagnosed with COVID-19. He developed an itchy throat on July 25.

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced today that strict border control measures will remain in place after the nationwide epidemic alert is lowered to Level 2 starting July 27. The continued implementation of these measures is based on the resurgence of COVID-19 infections and the ongoing transmission of the Delta variant around the world and reflects Taiwan’s determination to remain vigilant.
