Taiwan retained Tier 1 status for the 12th consecutive year in the 2021 Trafficking in Persons Report released July 1 by the U.S. Department of State.
The Minister of Finance, Dr. Jain-Rong Su, and the Executive President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Dr. Dante Mossi, signed an agreement for establishing a country office in Taiwan at the virtual meeting on April 23, 2021 (Taiwan time). Having prepared for two months, CABEI Country Office in Taiwan started to operate on the 83rd floor of Taipei 101 on July 6, 2021, the first branch office in Asia.
Regarding the two new imported cases, Case #15180 is a Taiwanese male in his teens. He arrived in Taiwan from the US on July 4. Case #15185 is a Taiwanese man in his 30s. He arrived in Taiwan from Indonesia on June 30.
On July 6, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that the Japanese government would provide an additional 1.13 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to Taiwan after it had offered a batch of 1.24 million doses of the vaccine to Taiwan on June 4.
Despite facing a more severe pandemic challenge this year, Taiwan’s long-term accumulated art and cultural works have become popular in the world recently, from receiving awards for pictures, illustrations, films to participating in important film festivals, performing arts and architectural exhibitions.

He returned to Taiwan from the UK on July 1. Case #15164 is a Taiwanese man in his 50s. He returned to Taiwan from Saudi Arabia on July 2.
As I set foot onto Huaxin Street in New Taipei City’s Zhonghe District, it is like finding myself transported to another world. The street is lined with stores and signs adorned not only with Chinese, but also with unfamiliar Burmese script. The sidewalks are full of people, and under the storefront verandas people sit around, watching the world go by.
