Taiwan keeps US Tier 1 anti-human trafficking status for 12th consecutive year

Taiwan retained Tier 1 status for the 12th consecutive year in the 2021 Trafficking in Persons Report released July 1 by the U.S. Department of State.

CABEI Country Office in Taiwan has started to operate, the first in Asia.

The Minister of Finance, Dr. Jain-Rong Su, and the Executive President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Dr. Dante Mossi, signed an agreement for establishing a country office in Taiwan at the virtual meeting on April 23, 2021 (Taiwan time). Having prepared for two months, CABEI Country Office in Taiwan started to operate on the 83rd floor of Taipei 101 on July 6, 2021, the first branch office in Asia.

On July 6, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that the Japanese government would provide an additional 1.13 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to Taiwan after it had offered a batch of 1.24 million doses of the vaccine to Taiwan on June 4.

Regarding the three new imported cases, Case #15152 is a Taiwanese girl under the age of five. She arrived in Taiwan from the US on June 21. Case #15155 is a Taiwanese man in his 20s. He returned to Taiwan from the UK on July 1. Case #15164 is a Taiwanese man in his 50s. He returned to Taiwan from Saudi Arabia on July 2.
