CECC confirms 250 indigenous COVID-19 cases and 1 imported case

Regarding the new imported case, Case #12698 is a Taiwanese female in her 40s. She returned to Taiwan from China on May 30. She developed a fever on June 9, and the health authority arranged for her to be tested on June 10. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on June 12.

R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas missions to halt processing of visa applications during Taiwan’s nationwide Level 3 epidemic alert in accordance with strict border control measures imposed by CECC

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced today that strict border control measures will continue to be implemented during Taiwan’s nationwide Level 3 epidemic alert. In accordance with these measures, entry to Taiwan has been suspended for foreign nationals not holding a valid R.O.C. (Taiwan) Resident Certificate. Exceptions are being considered on a case-by-case basis for emergencies and on humanitarian grounds.

To mitigate medical care load of severe COVID-19 cases, CECC purchases drugs for combined use in monoclonal antibody therapy to treat mild-to-moderate COVID-19 cases at risk of developing severe cases

On June 11, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that it has purchased drugs for the combined use in monoclonal antibody therapy that can be used to treat COVID-19 patients with mild-to-moderate cases who are at risk of developing severe cases so as to reduce their risk of developing severe cases and requiring hospitalization and alleviate the medical care load for severe cases.
