CECC confirms 335 indigenous cases and reports 8 retroactively added cases

On June 6, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 335 new confirmed indigenous cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Furthermore, the CECC reported 8 retroactively added cases; a total of 343 cases were recorded. The CECC also announced 36 deaths today.

On June 5, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC)announced that it has allocated an approximately NT$4 billion budget and that, starting June 7, 2021, it will use the budget as an incentive for contracted healthcare facilities that offer free vaccinations to members of the public, in order to promote the large-scale COVID-19 vaccination program.

MOFA expresses heartfelt gratitude to Japan for providing vaccine doses in a joint effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic

Following intensive bilateral negotiations, Japan agreed to provide Taiwan with 1.24 million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to jointly combat the pandemic. The vaccine doses are scheduled to arrive in Taiwan in the afternoon of June 4. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) expresses heartfelt appreciation for Japan’s timely assistance.

On June 4, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 341 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 341 new cases, 339 are indigenous and the other two are imported. Furthermore, the CECC reported 133 retroactively added cases; a total of 474 cases were recorded. The CECC also announced 21 deaths today.
