Taiwan and Guatemala Sign an Arrangement for Mutual Recognition of AEO to Facilitate Bilateral Trade

The Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) on Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) between Taiwan and Guatemala was signed on May 28, 2021. Through the Arrangement, the customs administrations of Taiwan and Guatemala are able to mutually recognize each other’s AEO programs. Exporters that are awarded AEO status from Taiwan and Guatemala can both enjoy facilitated customs clearances at their borders.

Regarding the four imported cases, Case #8419 is a Taiwanese male in his 30s; Case #8531 is a Taiwanese female in her 50s, and Case #8532 is a Taiwanese male in his 50s. They developed symptoms on April 29 (Case #8531) and May 10 (Case #8419 and Case #8532). The three Taiwanese nationals returned to Taiwan from India on May 29. After arrival, they were tested for COVID-19, and infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the cases on May 31.

CECC confirms 266 indigenous cases reports 89 retroactively added cases

On May 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 266 new confirmed indigenous cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Furthermore, the CECC reported 89 retroactively added cases; a total of 355 cases were recorded. The CECC also announced 10 deaths today.

The CECC confirmed 7 imported cases today. Case #7557 is an over 20-year-old male from the Philippines. Case #7676 is a Taiwanese male in his 20s. He returned to Taiwan from Indonesia on April 28. Case #7805 is a Taiwanese male in his 40s. He returned to Taiwan from India on May 15. Cases #7811-7814 are four Filipino nationals.
