Taiwan has not been invited to attend the virtual 74th World Health Assembly (WHA), which commenced on May 24, as an observer. Minister of Foreign Affairs Jaushieh Joseph Wu and Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shih-chung issued a joint protest expressing the Taiwan government’s deep displeasure and asserted the firm determination of the government and people of Taiwan to continue to seek participation in the WHA.

National Palace Museum wins 26 Remi awards at WorldFest Houston film festival

Film and video productions of the National Palace Museum (NPM) in Taipei won 26 Remi awards of various categories in the 54th WorldFest Houston International Film and Video Festival (休士頓獨立製片與國際影片影展) . “A True Taiwanese Welcome (故宮好客),” an English-language brochure packed with information about the historic museum, won a platinum Remi award in the TV Commercials / Public Service Announcements category.

Regarding the two imported cases (Case #5085 and Case #5470), they both traveled to Taiwan from the Philippines. Case #5085 is a man in his 40s. He arrived in Taiwan on May 2. He was tested for COVID-19 on May 17, before the end of the quarantine period, and the result came back negative. After he completed the self-health management period on May 24, he took a self-paid test arranged by the company he worked for.
