On March 27, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced seven new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Those seven new cases arrived in Taiwan from Indonesia (Cases #1015-1019), the United States (Case #1020), and the Philippines (Case #1021).

The new case, Case #1014, is an over 30-year-old male migrant worker from the Philippines. The Filipino migrant worker traveled to Taiwan for work on February 28. Before completing the quarantine period, he was tested for COVID-19 on March 13, and he tested negative.

On 26 March, Former Vice President of Taiwan and Academician of Academia Sinica Dr. Chen, Chien-jen attended online “Presidents’ Forum 2021” and delivered a keynote speech titled Global Health and Universal Vaccination”. This forum was held by National Science and Technology Development Agency(NSTDA) which is the highest level of scientific research institute in Thailand. Taipei Economic and Cultural Office was invited to the forum as an important counterpart.

The upcoming five-day visit to Taiwan of a delegation led by Palau President Surangel Whipps Jr. is sincerely welcomed by the government and people, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said March 25.
