A Philippine-Taiwan production, Last Days at Sea

Last Days at Sea is a documentary film produced by Venice Atienza together with Fan Wu. The documentary is produced by the Svemirko Film Productions, which is a company co-founded by Venice Atienza from the Philippines and Fan Wu from Taiwan. The documentary is competing at the 71st Berlinale-Berlin International Film Festival Generation Section.

The list of winners for the 2021 Japan World's Tourism Film Festival was announced recently and Taichung City Tourism and Travel Bureau’s Taichung. The Heart of Taiwan stood out from the competition to win the Best Southeast Asian Film Award, marking yet another successful endeavor in international marketing.

Domestic cinema to continue sharing engaging stories of Taiwan with the world

Following a presentation Thursday by the Ministry of Culture (MOC) on achievements in the revitalization and guidance of national cinema, Premier Su Tseng-chang said that Taiwan has the world’s richest repository of moving stories, and that the government would continue its assistance and support for the movie industry. The premier said that in addition to sharing the nation’s many engaging tales with the world, domestic cinema can draw talent from abroad to come make films in Taiwan.

Penghu New Immigrant on-the-job volunteer training course starts on March 17

The “Happy Seed Volunteer Team” (幸福種子志工隊) of the Penghu County New Immigrant Family Service Center will be organizing a series of “on-the-job training course.” The course will be held on March 17, March 18, March 24 and March 27. The total course hours will be 12 hours. New immigrants are welcome to join the volunteer group.

Singapore orders 25 tons of Taiwanese pineapples

Singapore has ordered 25 tons of pineapples from Tainan, Taiwan. That’s as Taiwan faces a sudden ban of its pineapples from China in place since March 1. CECC confirms 1 more imported COVID-19 case; Philippine migrant worker found to have COVID-19 during quarantine period

On March 10, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced one new confirmed imported case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The new case, Case #979, is an over 20-year-old male migrant worker from the Philippines. The migrant worker visited Taiwan for work on February 28.
