New Taipei City Government has been promoting a project “New Immigration Next Generation project” since 2020. On the first stage, the government held this project in 10 elementary schools, including Sanzhi Elementary School, to develop club activity classes that matched second-generation immigrant student’s interest, language and culture.
New Taipei Municipal Ching Shui High School (CSSH) held an activity called “How to Teach Foreigners Speak English”on Feb. 7th. During the activity, Taiwanese students will have to teach foreign students that are from 16 countries Chinese. The countries include Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc.
The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City has been conducting the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) tests for many years as part of its work promoting Mandarin learning and evaluation in Vietnam, South of Da Nang. The tests are held in various cities, including Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Can Tho, and Dong Thap, and more than 2,000 applicants each year apply to sit for the tests.
On February 27, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced three new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Those three new cases arrived in Taiwan from the United Kingdom (Case #953), Vietnam (Case #954) and the Philippines (Case #955).

The “one person per residence” rule currently applicable to all arrivals in Taiwan since mid-January will be expanded to include those who need to undergo self isolation after having contact with individuals found to have COVID-19, starting March 1, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced Saturday.
