On January 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) reported that local cases in Singapore increased slightly recently and that the country continued to report sporadic community-acquired cases that included cluster infections with unknown sources of infection. In consideration of the status of the coronavirus pandemic in Singapore, the CECC has moved Singapore to its list of medium-risk countries/regions from low-risk countries/regions.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture says that the 2021 Taipei International Book Exhibition will take place online due to fears of COVID-19. This came after Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center asked organizers of large-scale events to consider cancellation.
