When people talk of Daxi, the first things that come to mind are dried tofu, marinated until it is dark and glossy, and beautiful, heavy rosewood furniture. However, these past few years the little town has been redefining itself with “Daxi studies,” exuding a new vitality and charm that are attracting travelers from all over.
On November 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 24 new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Among the 24 new cases, 20 came to Taiwan from Indonesia (Case # 653, Cases #655-668, Cases #672-676); two traveled from the United States (Cases #670-671); one(Case #654) traveled from the United Kingdom; and one (Case #669) visited from the Philippines.
On November 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that it would temporarily suspend entry of all Indonesian migrant workers coming to Taiwan to work for two weeks, from December 4 until December 17, in response to the escalating coronavirus situation in Indonesia and to ensure domestic epidemic prevention efforts and to reduce imported infections through Indonesian migrant workers.

On November 25, Labor Commissioner Chen Hsin-yu led a team from the Department of Labor (DOL) on a visit to 3 major night markets – Linjiang, Ningxia, and Raohe – in Taipei. The purpose of the trip is to remind vendors and businesses to exercise cautiousness when hiring foreign workers.
On November 29, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 3 new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Those 3 new cases (Cases #650-652) are all migrant workers from Indonesia.
