Mayor: Water Lantern Festival Promotes Cultural Exchange, Boosts Taipei’s Profile

On November 22, Mayor Ko Wen-je attended the 2020 Water Lantern Festival near the Rainbow Bridge in Songshan District. He joined the representatives of Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia at the Xikou Wharf to release the floating lanterns with kids of new immigrant descent.

CECC confirms 6 more imported COVID-19 cases; cases arrive in Taiwan from Indonesia, US and Philippines

On November 22, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced six new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Among those six cases (Cases #613-618), four arrived in Taiwan from Indonesia, one arrived from the United States, and one traveled from the Philippines.

A COVID-19 RT-PCR test result is required for entering Taiwan from December 1, 2020 untill February 28, 2021.

The virtual 2020 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) was held on Friday November 20 from 8:00 PM to 10:50 PM (Taipei time), the first time since APEC’s founding in 1989 that the meeting was conducted via videoconferencing. Leader’s Representative Morris Chang, founder of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd (TSMC), attended the entire meeting and successfully accomplished the assigned tasks.
