The 2050 Net Zero City Expo got underway March 18 in Taipei City as part of public-private cooperation to promote sustainable development under the government’s “2050 Net Zero Pathway” policy.

Taiwan will host the inaugural World Bird Fair Sept. 20-21 in the central city of Taichung to promote bird conservation and birdwatching ecotourism, the Tourism Administration said March 17.

On the afternoon of March 18, President Lai Ching-te met with participants in the 2025 Yushan Forum. In remarks, President Lai thanked the guests for gathering here in Taiwan and discussing ways to enhance regional cooperation, demonstrating that our democratic allies and friends are standing together as we take on the challenges of a new world and a new era. The president reiterated that Taiwan will continue to engage with the world, and we welcome the world to come closer to Taiwan.

The 2025 Asia Pacific Orchid Conference (APOC) and Taiwan International Orchid Show (TIOS) officially opened on Mar. 8 at the Orchid Garden of the MoA Agriculture Technology Park Administration Center in Houbi District. The grand event attracted many visitors from home and abroad. The Bangkok International Book Fair is set to take place at the Queen Sirikit National Conventional Center from Mar. 27 to Apr. 7. The Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Thailand will set up a booth showcasing Taiwanese literary translations and the winners of Golden Butterfly Award, Taiwan’s prestigious award for publication design.
