CECC confirms 3 more imported COVID-19 cases; cases arrive in Taiwan from Philippines

On October 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced three new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Those three new cases are a Filipina in her 20s (Case #541), a Filipino man in his 20s (Case #542), and a Taiwanese man in his 50s (Case #543). They all entered Taiwan from the Philippines.

From 2018, foreign special professionals who meet certain requirements can apply for exemption from income tax.

National Taxation Bureau of the Northern Area, Ministry of Finance indicated that, to enhance the recruitment of foreign special professionals, from 2018, if a foreign special professional meets certain requirements, referring to Article 9 of the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals and Regulations Governing Reduction and Exemption of Income Tax of Foreign Special Professionals, he or she can apply for exemption from income tax.

On October 19, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced five new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the five new cases (Case #536-540), two entered Taiwan from the Philippines, and the remaining three traveled from France, Indonesia, and Russia.
