CECC confirms 2 more imported COVID-19 cases; cases return to Taiwan from Philippines

On September 11, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced two new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The two new cases are a Filipina in her 30s (Case #497) and a Taiwanese man in his 60s (Case #498).

On September 10, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced one new confirmed imported case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The new case is a Taiwanese man in his 60s (Case #496). The man visited Indonesia for work in February. The case took the same flight to Taiwan as Case #492, but he did not sit in the two rows in front of or behind Case #492 on the flight. He returned to Taiwan by himself on September 4.

CECC moves Vietnam to its list of low-risk countries and adds Hong Kong to medium-risk category in response to trends of coronavirus situations in these regions

The CECC announced the updated list of countries/regions eligible for shortened quarantine periods in Taiwan. The CECC reported that local infections in Vietnam have decreased, with only sporadic local cases over the past two weeks. Therefore, the CECC has moved Vietnam to its list of low-risk countries from the list of medium-risk countries.
