A woman from the Philippines tested positive for COVID-19 after leaving Taiwan recently, but has shown no symptoms of the disease so far, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said Wednesday.
On August 26, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) reported that Taiwan had received a notification from the Philippines authorities through International Health Regulations (IHR) National Focal Point on August 25 that an asymptomatic female had tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) after she had returned to the Philippines from Taiwan.
Taiwan has a unique opportunity to reshape global supply chains for the betterment of the world, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact global supply chains, American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Director Brent Christensen said Tuesday. The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that no additional cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were confirmed in Taiwan on August 26. The CECC reported that a cumulative total of 86,419 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 85,346. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 487 cases.
Any employers who make illegal deductions from the salaries of migrant workers will face a fine of up to NT$300,000 (NT$10,206), the Ministry of Labor (MOL) said Tuesday.
