CORONAVIRUS/Foreign students below tertiary level now allowed to enter Taiwan: MOE

New and current international students enrolled in elementary and secondary schools in Taiwan will be allowed to enter the country with immediate effect, the Ministry of Education (MOE) said Wednesday, as Taiwan further eased its border restrictions. The restrictions, which were imposed in March as part of Taiwan's COVID-19 pandemic response, are being lifted in phases, with the latest change addressing the entry of foreign students below university level.

CORONAVIRUS/Vietnamese infected during quarantine; 3 other COVID-19 cases closed: CECC

A Vietnamese migrant worker, who recently tested positive for COVID-19 in his home country after leaving Taiwan, was likely infected while he was in quarantine there, Vietnam health authorities told Taiwan on Wednesday.
The message was delivered via the National IHR Focal Point, a communication channel set up under the World Health Organization's International Health Regulations, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said.

CECC confirms 1 more imported COVID-19 case; male case found to have COVID-19 after returning to Taiwan from Philippines

On August 18, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced one new confirmed imported case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The new case is a Taiwanese male in his 60s (Case #486). The case worked in the Philippines for an extended period of time (his most recent date of departure from Taiwan was in January). He returned to Taiwan on August 12.

Taiwan reports new COVID-19 case, updates status of Malaysian case

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) on Tuesday reported a new case of COVID-19 imported from the Philippines and provided updates regarding the test results of contacts of a Malaysian man who was confirmed to have the disease after he had already left Taiwan.

CECC confirms 1 more imported COVID-19 case; female case returns to Taiwan from Philippines

On August 15, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced one new confirmed imported case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The new case is an over 20-year-old female (Case #482). The case started to work in the Philippines from August of 2019 after being transferred to a post in the country. She returned to Taiwan on August 13, 2020.
