The National Development Council unveiled the 2021-2024 national development plan July 13, charting a future path for Taiwan’s economic growth and foreign relations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) states the following position related to ROC sovereignty over the South China Sea Islands

The South China Sea Islands are part of the territory of the Republic of China. That the ROC is entitled to all rights over the South China Sea Islands and their relevant waters in accordance with international law and the law of the sea is beyond dispute. On July 19, 2016, President Tsai Ing-wen outlined four principles and five actions to deal with South China Sea issues together with the international community.

Taipei Main Station lobby reopens for public use

Members of the public are welcome to use the lobby again at Taipei Main Station starting Sunday, following a temporary ban on mass gatherings there due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) said.
The TRA imposed the ban on gatherings and sitting on the ground in the lobby of the station on Feb. 29 to prevent the spread of the disease.

EVA Air named world's 4th best international airline: magazine

Taiwan-based EVA Air was rated the world's fourth best international carrier in 2020, one spot up from last year's ranking, according to Travel+ Leisure magazine earlier this week. The airline scored 85.67 out of 100 to win recognition in cabin comfort, in-flight service, customer service and value, according to the New York-based magazine.

Taiwan ranked as second safest country in the world

Taiwan is the second safest country in the world, after Qatar, according to visitors to an online database, who voted on 133 countries/territories globally.
In the Crime Index by Country 2020 Mid-Year survey, Taiwan scored 84.74 out of 100 for safety, the online database Numbeo showed.
