NIA Taitung County Service Center invites new immigrant volunteers to enjoy foreign cuisine to pay tribute to their diligent work

On September 20, special certificates of gratitude were distributed by the National Immigration Agency Taitung County Service Center and the Specialized Operation Brigade as a way of thanking the volunteers and interpreters for their diligent work every day. They also planned events (多元文化異國美食饗宴活動) with NGOs so that everyone may sample global dishes and share unique cuisine.

The Taichung City Government will hold the “2023 Taichung International Dance Carnival” at Taichung City Hall Square and Calligraphy Greenway from September 29th to October 1st, during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday! 2023 World Ethnic Film Festival to kick off in mid-September

The 2023 World Ethnic Film Festival (WEFF) will take place from Sept. 15 through 24 in Taiwan. 19 films from 17 countries/regions are selected to be screened at Taipei’s Spot Huashan Cinema (光點華山電影館), Vieshow Cinema of Taroko Mall (大魯閣新時代威秀影城) in Taichung City, Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum in Chiayi County, and Century Asia Cinemas (喜樂時代影城) in Kaohsiung City.

NIA Second-generation immigrant ambassadors explores the National Palace Museum for historical artifact

The NIA Taipei City Specialized Operation Brigades have a long history of supporting the growth of immigrant children. The New Immigrant Ambassador group from Taipei City Service Center went to the National Palace Museum on August 27. The New Immigrant Ambassador group is specifically invited by the National Palace Museum to participate in the event (故意使壞-故宮實境解謎遊戲) with the guides of the new immigrants from Vietnam and Indonesia, who will also greet them.

The 9th Dream-Building Project for New Residents and Their Children Results Presentation with 30 groups of dream builders

The National Immigration Agency hosted its ninth Dream-Building Project for New Residents and Their Children event (第9屆新住民及其子女築夢計畫成果發表暨圓夢祝賀茶會). The Dream-Building Project incentive was given to a total of 30 groups this year, along with 88 new immigrants and their children. Since the “Dream-Building Project” was introduced by NIA in 2015, more than 400 new immigrants have benefited from it to achieve their aspirations.

The Keelung City Government formed the New Immigrant Affairs Committee (新住民事務委員會) to help new immigrants integrate into Taiwanese society, and during this year’s Zhongyuan Festival events, it won a float specifically for the new immigrants. Together with international students, the family of the new immigrants forms a parade.

NIA Taitung County Service Center promotes anti-bribery election with pilots at Taiwan International Balloon Festival

At the Taiwan International Balloon Festival on August 2, the National Immigration Agency Taitung County Service Center’s Southern District Affairs Brigade informed attendees and international pilots about anti-corruption election. The director (林明道) of the NIA Taitung County Service Center also reminded the populace to remain impartial and reject election bribery behaviors if any candidate or unit offered free travel or gifts in different ways during the election period.
