Delegates from several nations exchanged multicultural experiences during the Taoyuan 2023 Multicultural Forum

The “2023 Multicultural Forum” was hosted by the Taoyuan City Government on August 10. Along with Mayor Chang San-cheng (張善政) of Taoyuan, Mayor Darren Power of Logan, Queensland, Australia, Mayor Koizumi Kazunari of Narita City, Japan, and Aznifah, the Representatives from Malaysia, they were all invited to attend and give briefings, share their experiences promoting multiculturalism and ethnic integration in various nations, and learn from other people's experiences abroad.

The 2023 WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup tournament officially kicks off on July 28th and the young athletes from the twelve competing nations started to arrive in Tainan on July 26th. To welcome them and wish them all the best, Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-che gifted local cultural and creative gifts that represent “success and victory” to the players.

Mayor Embarks on Trip to Singapore

On July 5, Mayor Chiang Wan-an led a delegation from Taipei City Hall on a trip to Singapore. The 4-day-3-night trip is the first official visit abroad for Chiang since entering office. He shared his primary objectives for the trip with the media during a press event at the airport.

As striving for local tourism, Chiayi City Government visited Thai Travel Agents Association (TTAA) for exchange on June 26. The team even held the tourism promotion in Bangkok, Thailand today. Min-hui Huang led the team as well as Chiayi Chenghuang Temple and local tourism representatives to present the most unique and local cultures and businesses of Chiayi City. People were amazed by the Jishengtang Jiajiang performance and the traditional face painting arranged by Chiayi Chenghuang Temple.

Well-known online travel platform Booking.com released its top 10 sustainable tourism destinations in the world list and Tainan is the only city in Taiwan to be listed on account of the city’s commitment to developing sustainable industries and solar energy, and active deployment of smart city technologies. Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che expressed that Tainan will keep on promoting sustainable tourism and green tourism as well as working on building a smart city.
