The 2023 Central Taiwan Lantern Festival was held in Central Park at Shuinan for the first time this year. The Taichung City Government invited ambassadors from friendly countries such as Paraguay, Honduras, Saint Kitts, and Nevis, as well as distinguished guests from Thailand, the United States, and Japan to visit. Deputy Mayor Guo-Rong Huang represented the government to receive them.

The Tainan City Government launched the Friendship Box Reading Program to facilitate interactions with other cities and promote the beauty of Tainan. In the past four years, the program has hosted over 170 events with participating cities from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania. The objective is to promote more interactions between Tainan and the world as the city prepares to commemorate its 400th anniversary.

To celebrate the 40 years of cherished relationship, Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-che and City of Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate each recorded videos to convey their best wishes to the other city. In terms of digital governance, New Taipei City was recognized by the ASOCIO ICT Award, which is known as the Asian Cup in the information and communications industry for its “Distant Digital Care Center.” Winning the award of Digital Government Award shows that New Taipei City’s development of innovative technology applications in smart cities is prestigious in the world.
New Taipei City went to the Ohio Statehouse yesterday (27) to participate in the “Global Summit 2022” global summit and awards ceremony held by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), standing out from the seven smart cities in the final, surpassing Canada, Australia and other large international cities, and winning the first prize of the smart city around the world, allowing the flag of the Republic of China to leap onto the international stage.
